Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the novice remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
